I was green before green was cool, and so was Peter Steel. If the Beatles, Black Sabbath, and the Ramones had a threesome he would be their child. Good Bye Pete. We all love and miss you.

@Clematisian … he converted to Catholicism? when? is that info legitimate, or just a rumor?
May 23rd, 2010 at 4:29 am
Nature has come full circle, hasn’t it? I’m older than him, in my fifties, and even though I’m a hardened criminal I broke down & cried, regardless of being out in public surrounded by mindlessly rushing about shoppers, when I first heard the tragic news. Yes, this is a juxtaposition of his Pagan sentiments despite his later conversion to Catholicism, with his former occupation as a borough of Manhattan sanitation engineer. when i listen to this i realize i am truly saddened at Pete Steele’s passing..no more Type O Negative anymore…no more new lp’s..i realize i must make the best of what’s left of my life..fuck life is so short..Pete’s music helped me through some very trying times i hope the Halloween in heaven is in full swing…man what a loss its really hard to take

@BechardBrats I think he was probably referring to both the druid green man and himself as a garbage man, because he talks about Wiccanism in the song too. Pretty clever wasn’t he.
